There were three different Gasthauses that we went to as teenagers. Gasthauses served great bratwurst and fresh baked pastries. We had one near Miller Hall, one on the road to Rivers Barracks ( that was the one with the ten pfennig slot machine) and our favorite one..the Pizza Haus. It was located near Schwanen teich (Swan Lake), a short walk down the hill from the officer's quarters. It had a private back room that was perfect for large groups, such as ours. I recall several get togethers where there were 10 to 15 kids in the room .We had some great times. Below is a picture taken, in April of 1967, where Guy Castleberry is toasting Steve Buck, who would be leaving in a few weeks to return to the States.( Pete Kilgore, who arrived late that night is probably taking the picture and he is using Kym's Kodak Instamatic).
